BlackBox takes flight thanks to Emerald Bay
A stone’s throw from Manchester Airport and the motorway network, the Cheshire town of Wilmslow has become a popular and prestigious business location. When developer, Inacity LLP, secured a dilapidated 1960s office block, the company knew that its refurbishment into contemporary serviced offices would need to be exceptional in terms of both design and finish to attract high-end occupiers. As a result, renowned local architect, Pozzoni, was commissioned to design the ‘Blackbox Business Centre’ scheme and Inacity tendered the two stage design and build contract to five construction firms in the region.
Emerald Bay Construction made it onto the tender list thanks to a recommendation and our experienced team maximised the opportunity to showcase our expertise and innovative approach. Our thorough tender submission outlined how we would manage costs and maximise quality while delivering the project in a very tight timeframe. Our proactive approach to addressing the challenges of the scheme in the tender document, along with our can-do attitude at the pre and post tender interviews helped Emerald Bay Secure the refurbishment contract.

Emerald Bay developed the Stage D design to a Design & Build scheme and drafted all of the required contract, health & safety and quality documentation required to allow work to begin. The Emerald Bay team continued to work closely with the architect to develop the design, in line with client and prospective tenant requirements, throughout the project, delivering a high quality finish to the agreed programme, despite the tight deadline.
